Returning for more minicommentaries, Trey and Matt seem much more mature this time. They’re actually talking about comedy techniques and irony and tone. It’s great to hear comedy masters analyze themselves. I wonder if it’s because they’ve just finally realized their own mastery, or we just caught them on a day when they didn’t just blow everything off as a joke. Either way, it’s a great set of mini tracks.

These were recorded during the latest run of episodes, after Team America had come out. While they don’t specifically discuss their puppet film, you can tell they’re still tired. They admit to throwing in some resolutions at the last minute the night before episodes air, and their honesty is always appreciated.

The joy of this show is that they can be utterly ridiculous or bitingly sharp. It’s all good. Here are some short snippets of their thought process on the latest collection of episodes.
