This is a disappointing special edition. They clearly wanted to rush this one out and so did not wait for Will Smith to participate. And I’m sure he would have because he has no aversions to talking about his old TV show.
As it is, there is only one 15 minute retrospective documentary and they do get many of the cast members. But they didn’t even get Alfonso Ribeiro. I would have been happy just to hear from Carlton, but they didn’t even give us that.
There are no executive commentaries, which I guess is good. Why milk something for more than people actually want to see. But if they weren’t going to do this right, I don’t see how rushing it into stores early would generate more sales than having a DVD with Will Smith interviews or possibly commentaries. |
