HBO Video proudly presents to DVD Richard Jeni’s first HBO special in over seven years – Richard Jeni: A Steaming Pile of Me. This comedy special is an all-new hour of off-the-wall characterizations and humor taped before a live audience at the Irvine Barclay Theatre in Irvine, California.
In this hilarious performance Jeni, a cutting-edge comic and actor, explores terrorism, political correctness, France, religion, the U.S. obesity epidemic, the war on drugs, the battle of the sexes, the Iraq war, the effects of PMS, internet pornography, Martha Stewart, Michael Jackson, gay marriage, liberals vs. conservatives, men and women driving together, illegal immigration, and more.
Three-time CableACE winner Richard Jeni made his HBO debut in a 1988 “Young Comedians Show.” He subsequently headlined the 1993 special “HBO Comedy Hour: Richard Jeni: Platypus Man,” which won a CableACE Award for best stand-up comedy special, and the 1997 special “HBO Comedy Hour: Richard Jeni: A Good Catholic Boy,” as well as starring in the 1995 comedy series “Platypus Man.” Named best male stand-up by the Amreican Comedy Awards, and voted one of the 100 best stand-up comics of all time in a cable TV poll, Jeni has frequently performed stand-up on “The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno,” among other shows.
