Light on extras with only one featurette, compared to several on the first season, but once you show how they do those graphic surgeries, I guess there isn’t much else. So the spot on the women in Dr. Christian Troy’s life is pretty good.
They get Jessalyn Gilsig, Kelly Carlson, Ruth Williamson and executive producer Greer Shepard analyze Troy’s problems with commitment. It sucks that they don’t have Julian McMahon chime in or even series creator Ryan Murphy, but it’s a worthy speculation on an important topic for the show, and it does cover the ladies’ perspectives. But where’s Roma Maffia? I can see leaving out Julia because he’s more part of his past, but Christian got Liz pregnant this season.
Deleted scenes are interested including more detail on how the cops actually let Sean make his foolish move in the season finale, more sick banter between Christian and Gina, a very nice desperate moment from Gina, some more with various patients including a big problem with a hair transplant, some wonderful moments with Liz’s insemination and even a patient we’ve never seen before.
The show is so tight that many of these would have hurt the episodes, but some are just so heartbreaking that it’s still painful to see them out of context. I wish they would have put all the deleted scenes in one clump. It’s a pain to put in every disc to see them all. But they’re worth the effort. |

Description: Only a few extras, but an analysis of Dr. Troy's women is good and the deleted scenes include new moments every bit as heartbreaking as the series.
