TV Favorites From The Past Arrive On DVD

The first wave has arrived with five new exciting DVD titles, including the groundbreaking Chico and the Man, vintage westerns Cheyenne and Maverick, the rip-roaring Dukes of Hazzard and the hilarious western satire F-Troop. Each DVD will be value priced at $9.97 (SRP) and will feature a collection of three to six pivotal episodes from a given series.
Each featured title will include 150 minutes of content consisting of three to six fan favorite and/or pivotal episodes from multiple seasons of each program. Fans can look forward to a second wave of TV Favorites in early 2006 that will include a mix of genres, from classic and contemporary titles at the same value price of $9.97.
Starring legendary comedian Freddie Prinze, Chico and the Man is a comedy/drama about two men from radically different cultural backgrounds, Chico (Prinze), the enterprising young Chicano and his boss, Ed Brown (Jack Albertson), the cranky, sarcastic old man who operates a run-down garage. The series originally aired from 1974 to1978 on NBC.
Maverick tells the story of Bret (James Garner), Bart (Jack Kelley) and Beau Maverick (Roger Moore), “Fancy Pants” gamblers who roam from town to town during the era of the great old west. Maverick originally aired from 1957 to 1962 on ABC.
Dukes of Hazzard follows the adventures of cousins Bo (John Schneider) and Luke (Tom Wopat) assisted by their cousin Daisy (Catherine Bach) and Uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle), who fight the system and root out the corrupt practices of Hazzard County Commissioner Boss Hogg. Dukes of Hazzard originally aired from 1979 to 1985 on CBS.
Cheyenne focuses on adventurer Cheyenne Bodie (Clint Walker), who after the Civil War, roamed the west looking for fights, women and bad guys to rough up. The series originally aired from 1955 to 1963 on ABC.
F-Troop is the classic comedy satire about a crew of hilarious bumbling cavalrymen somewhere west of the Missouri in post-Civil War day. The series starred Ken Berry and Forrest Tucker among others and originally aired from 1965 to 1967 on ABC. |
