This is a truly rare DVD event. As rare as the show’s resurrection from cancellation, this is the DVD set of the first resurrected season after the DVD sales themselves resurrected the show. Indeed, the first extra details that.
In “World Domination,” find out how the creators brought the show back. It features all the returning voices and some key creators and it spends a good deal of time describing the new freedom the show enjoys and how it creates even funnier shows.
The deleted scenes are short but contain a funny musical number and Dead Poets Society reference.
A spot on the music is not just a puff piece on the composers. It’s a pretty cool feature on the musical parodies, from the style of showtune numbers to big spoofs like the A-Ha music video.
The multi-angle table read gives you two different episodes to choose from, and two scenes from the second one. If you’re still into playing with the angle feature on your DVD player, here you go. I gave up on that. But seeing the actors read the script at the table is cool and it’s surprising more animated shows haven’t done that on DVD. I just like seeing multiple voices come out of the same guy.
The commentaries seem way more focused and packed with “making of” information this time around too. Maybe now that they know there’s a real audience for it, they’re not just goofing around. |
