If you were a fan of The Aristocrats, you’ve been waiting to see the fan submitted contest winners. These guys did come up with some inventive twists on the joke. “Flapjack” not only comes up with some new obscenity, but his character puts the joke in a whole new context. The animated winner is no South Park. In fact, the animation is more of a distraction to the version of the joke.
The extended interviews with the celebrities are little mini-movies themselves. Instead of having to cut together as a whole, you can follow the individual comedian’s telling of the joke in depth. Bob Saget is always awesome. He actually shows remorse as he periodically gets dirtier and dirtier. Jon Stewart still doesn’t tell the joke, but he says other random hilarious things. Richard Jeni purposely hilariously messes up the joke many times over.
“The Aristocrats Do The Aristocrats” is an interesting editing exercise putting everyone’s version together in odd ways. It doesn’t feel like a valid telling of the joke because they’re breaking everybody’s flow and making their own combined version, but then maybe that is in the spirit of “The Aristocrats.”
“For Johnny Carson” is a surprisingly short bit just covering a few comedians doing the joke in Carson’s voice and confirming that it was in fact his favorite joke.
“Behind the Green Room Door” has comedians telling other favorite jokes. None of them are as funny as The Aristocrats, but there are some good ones. You figure, if they had these guys on tape, why not let it run? |
