This Oscar nominee for Best Original Screenplay really deserved even more recognition, but maybe that will at least get people to watch the DVD. Since it was an indie film, it’s not loaded with extras but they do a good job putting something together.
Interviews with the cast are just your standard EPK style on the set piece. It’s got a little bit of indie flavor to it but it’s still just basic talk about acting and characters.
The real meat comes in a Q&A between writer/director Noah Baumbach and film festival committee member Philip Lopate. They take apart minute scenes and actions from the movie and discuss inspirations and motivations. It’s a little more serious than the bitingly funny movie may deserve, but then it’s okay to talk serious about comedy, especially when it has such a heart to it. |
