In Running with Scissors, Annette Bening plays a crazy MILF who does irreparable psychological damage to her son. It’s no laughing matter, but thankfully most movie crazies are a lot more fun. Here are 10 of our favorite crazy movie broads.
10. Alicia Silverstone - Even before she was legal, she terrorized poor Cary Elwes in The Crush. Despite a butt double, Silverstone had already practiced her teenage seduction in the Aerosmith videos, so this was a pure 90 minute film exercise in that.
9. Glenn Close - I never went for the frizzy hair thing, but back in the ‘80s, she was the ultimate. Fatal Attraction probably saved more marriages than we’ll ever know with Close as the ultimate warning.
8. Kathy Bates – Hey, give a woman some props. Misery was so awesome, thanks to her, that she won an Oscar.
7. Ellen Barkin - As the murder suspect in Sea of Love, you didn’t know whether she did or didn’t. But she sure did it for audiences with her standing sex scene with Hoo-ah Pacino, and all those miniskirts in the prime of her legs… I mean, life.
6. Sharon Stone - Basic Instinct was the ultimate sex thriller, and how did Michael Douglas keep getting those babes? Sometimes it was too obvious to really make Stone the ultimate babe. She was arguably hotter as the tough western chick, but this isn’t a list about western chicks.
5. Gabrielle Union - She was so scary in Deliver Us From Eva, a romantic comedy, that I was afraid to even interview her. In this case, she’s a joy to look at, but you really don’t want to get too close.
4. Meg Ryan – Sleepless in Seattle was truly the story of a crazy person’s obsession. She flew across the country to stalk that man and his child, just staring. Truly frightening stuff in such a pretty package.
3. Cameron Diaz – She was actually so sympathetic in Vanilla Sky that I really was on her side. But, there was no reasoning with her and nobody wants their million dollar face torn apart by a car crash. The moral: If you get to do Cameron Diaz, don’t ever stop.
2. Rebecca De Mornay - Now, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle was truly a seductive psycho. She wanted to murder that wife, but if you could look past that, she would have done anything for the husband.
1. Bridgette Wilson - Bridgette Wilson played a ton of crazy chicks, and I wanted to do each one of them. Maybe it was because I first saw her as the kick-ass chick, and I can’t resist that, but no matter what bitchy demands she’d make, I wanted to marry that psycho. |
