| Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids
Released in time for the live action film release, this collection of six episodes takes you back to the good old days when cartoons taught you something. We’ve got “Stealing is wrong,” “don’t smoke,” and “Don’t blame yourself for your parents’ divorce” among others. Did every episode have such a clear moral, or did they just pick the preachiest episodes for this collection? In the smoking episode, Bill Cosby actually reads statistics to the kids.
The cartoons look fabulous. They’re perfectly clear and spotless. The colors are dull in the source material but look as vibrant as they can. If a complete season can look this good it will be a must for fans. I would like to get Bill Cosby reflecting on the show today though and see if he thinks modern kids would still go for this. It is dated, but harmless and well meaning.
