Review: Married With Children - 3rd Season DVD

The big bonus on the Married with Children Season Three DVD is a lost episode that never aired. By today’s standards it is not controversial at all, and in fact is socially relevant as Al and Peg get caught in a sex tape scandal. It’s a very funny episode and the chance to see a brand new Married with Children episode from the heyday of its glory is awesome.
The other “extra” which is totally odd is the new theme song. They have replaced “Love and Marriage” with a similar sounding instrumental piece. Why on earth would anyone think the public would want a new song on their favorite show? The truth must be that “Love and Marriage” cost a lot to put on DVD and they save a bundle replacing it with a generic synthesizer tune.
But the episodes are still intact, and there are a few interview bites scattered through the menus as easter eggs. I don’t understand why they don’t just make interview featurettes accessible through the menus, but at least you get to hear some of the cast reflect on their years as the Bundys. |
